Patience and Optimism

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Ever-Merciful…

After six months since I moved back to America from Saudi Arabia, the library still has not shipped from Saudi Arabia. Qad-dar Allaahu wa maa shaa’ fa’ala (Allaah has decreed a matter, and He does whatever he chooses). Trust me, no one is more anxious to receive this library than me, and Allaah knows best. As a student who relies heavily on research, not a scholar, the availability of these books means more to me than most people can imagine. We ask Allaah to facilitate the library for our community, and to bless it and those connected to its shipping, maintenance, and usage. To keep things real: In the scale of things that the Ummah faces, the trial of the delayed shipment of a library is no big thing. We simply turn to Allaah and ask Him for an increase in patience and that He provides us and all the Muslims worldwide with relief from our difficulties and reward for our patience. And as Muslims are optimistic people, we hope that such a delay would only increase us in our love and eagerness to benefit from what the library contains. Also, the delay of the shipment has allowed us to avoid a difficult time moving the books from the port to Pittsburgh in the freezing cold winter temperatures. The moving of the boxes from the shipping container alone, from the container into the masjid, is a massive task, better undertaken in the warmth of Spring than the frigid cold of Pittsburgh’s Winter.
