The 1MM Library Initiative

Library and Research Center of Western Pennsylvania, Supervised by Moosaa Richardson

About

The 1MM Library is a large collection of Arabic books needed by Muslim researchers. This library has been built gradually over the past 16 years by a student of knowledge at Umm al-Qura University, Moosaa Richardson. While all sciences are fairly represented in the library, it is especially well-equipped with comprehensive Hadeeth and Tafseer resources. It was a personal library until it outgrew the student’s personal residence and became too expensive to maintain.

The 1MM Library and Islamic Research Center of Western Pennsylvania is a project initiated by the founder of the library in order to make this unique resource publicly available, even if on a limited schedule, in the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, specifically at the First Muslim Mosque at 1911 Wylie Avenue.

This website provides information about the library, its content, its supporters and visitors, and its latest status.
