Library and Research Center of Western Pennsylvania, Supervised by Moosaa Richardson
The 1MM Library is a large collection of Arabic books needed by Muslim researchers. This library has been built gradually over the past 16 years by a student of knowledge at Umm al-Qura University, Moosaa Richardson. While all sciences are fairly represented in the library, it is especially well-equipped with comprehensive Hadeeth and Tafseer resources. It was a personal library until it outgrew the student’s personal residence and became too expensive to maintain.
The 1MM Library and Islamic Research Center of Western Pennsylvania is a project initiated by the founder of the library in order to make this unique resource publicly available, even if on a limited schedule, in the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, specifically at the top floor of the First Muslim Mosque on Wylie Avenue.
